As governor, I have taken aim at over-burdensome regulations to enhance innovation, investment, vision, creativity, and prosperity. I issued an executive order requiring state agencies to find ways to reduce unnecessary burdens to growth. I am also meeting with local business leaders across our state to find ways we can make it easier for them to do business.
South Carolina’s reputation as an attractive destination for business has benefited from this reform-based approach, as demonstrated by our strong economic performance. However, other states are working hard to catch us. As governor, I will work to keep and enhance our competitive edge and build for an even better tomorrow.
