Joe Cunningham is Lying to Voters

COLUMBIA, SC — During a news conference this week,
Congressman Cunningham claimed: “If Henry McMaster is re-elected, those
victims will be forced to carry that pregnancy to term. And if that woman still
decides to get an abortion, she would be tried for murder. That means that in
Henry McMaster’s South Carolina, her rapist would serve less time than she
would.”

That is a lie.

According to Section 44-41-730 of the Heartbeat Bill: “A pregnant woman on
whom an abortion is performed or induced in violation of this article may not be
criminally prosecuted for violating any of the provisions of this article or for
attempting to commit, conspiring to commit, or acting complicitly in committing
a violation of any of the provisions of the article and is not subject to a civil or
criminal penalty based on the abortion being performed or induced in violation
of any of the provisions of this article.”

Now, Congressman Cunningham is being called out.

Why is Congressman Cunningham lying?

To hide his own radical record from voters. Congressman Cunningham said he
wants to “codify Roe”, which would remove all restrictions on abortion.
During a subsequent interview, Congressman Cunningham quickly backtracked
and promoted a 20-week limit on abortions. His abrupt, new, radical abortion
position is still more extreme than nearly all European nations, which ban
abortion after 15 weeks or less.

Congressman Cunningham has promised voters that he will give them
something that they’re “not used to hearing; the truth”. In the short time that
he’s been the Democratic nominee, he has proven to be just another run-of-the-mill politician who will say or do anything to get elected including,
apparently, flat-out lying.
